Birthdays, Babies and Bikes

As if one birthday dinner and party weren't enough we celebrated Colin's birthday a third time with Tia and Via. No surprise, he picked Los Tios, aka Chips & Salsa for dinner. We also managed to celebrate another June birthday in between all the parties for Colin. We had cake and opened presents for Jim's birthday with the kids in the afternoon and then he and I celebrated sans kids that evening with drinks at our favorite bar, Off the Record then a six course tasting menu at Rasika. Did I mention the two bottles of champagne? Needless to say they had to roll us out the door we were so full but it was worth it!

Colin: "Daddydaddydaddydaddy, can I have the cookie? Oh and happy birthday"

Night out for birthday drinks at Off the Record and tasting menu at Rasika!

Our wonderful friends, the Moore's are fantastic about giving us hand me downs from their son and this summer we scored with a dinosaur big boy bike! After countless back breaking "rides" pushing-holding Colin up I finally decided we needed training wheels. Colin was super excited to show off his new bike and rode around the bike shop show room till they very kindly pushed us out the door.

New training wheels for Colin's big boy bicycle!
I got to babysit my little love, Conrad one morning and I couldn't help but snap a picture. Gaww, this little guy owns me!
Babysitting Baby Conrad, officially the happiest baby of all time!

Will and Channing, deep in thoughtful discussion.

Cheetos and a pink swimmy makes for a pretty awesome day.

Afternoon snack with Channing, Lyla and Dutch!

Our THIRD birthday celebration and dinner for Colin! This time with Tia and Via.

Just me and my Godmother.

Feliz Cumplianos a ti!

Let's Be Honest...

Who says I can't relive my childhood?
I'm not updating this blog as frequently as I had intended to and to make matters worse, when I do update I back date the post to make it look like I posted on time! I know I know I'm the worst. So, now with that off my chest here is a summary post of a few weeks worth of activities because (since I'm being honest) I can't remember what day some of these totally awesome memories-that-will-last-a-lifetime actually happened. Yes, yes Jim Morrell I am getting old but I'm still two years younger for four months than you are.

Colin and Channing are seriously concentrating during Vacation Bible School

Monsters University opening weekend!

Excited for a new movie about a racing snail!

Poor minions... they deserve better.

Will they ever both stand still AND smile at the same time? I wonder.

Colin's five year check up!

Colin loves playing "Dr. Sullivan" This time he got to hear his own heart beat!  When Dr. Sullivan asked what Colin wants to be when he grows up he said (with out missing a beat) "Master Yoda!"

Go Teddy!!

Everybody loves a good cardboard box seat!

Theater camp with Knight Ben and Princess Olivia.

First ones in the sand box on "new sand day"!

Colin is "cleaning" the St. Paul's play house.

Does this popsicle make my tongue red??

A stroll through Georgetown.

Dinner at La Lomita! "Mamma, they have chips and salsa here too!!"

We love us some Tia!!!

Off to Splish Splash camp!

Any play date that includes a water wall is AWESOME... and rather wet.

I've been told he is a dragon NOT a lizard... and Olivia tells me she is a Christmas elf!
I hope you enjoyed this hodge podge of June pictures!

Happy Father's Day

As luck would have it, while the Morrells were here for Colin's birthday we were also able to celebrate Father's Day with them! Its our second year to celebrate at Hill Country Bar-B-Que and given our love of good bbq I think this might become a family tradition.

Will: "Daddy, its a bow tie" We're working on his over sharing.

Trying to tickle the tickle monster.

I think we have some future Willie Nelson aficionados!

During the weekend we also visited Grandma J and had a wonderful family brunch!

Showing Ms. Pricilla their new Star Wars action figures.

That week we found time to explore the National Building Museum and play a round of mini-put put at their second annual summer exhibit. Each hole is designed by an architecture firm from the area. We went last year and I continue to be amazed by the creativity! Colin and Grandpa did a great job representing the family as Grandma and I cheered them on.

His favorite put put hole. No doubt it had something to do with getting a hole in  one!

"Grandpa, can you help me build a robot?"

And what summer is complete without popsicles? Grandma made cherry popsicles from a mold she gave the boys. It took a few days to fully freeze but boy was it worth the wait!

And you'll never see the boys turn down a little game time with the ipad. Looks like Grandpa downloaded a few new games especially for the occasion. Something about a penguin sliding on his belly through the south pole to avoid being eaten by a polar bear? Did I mention I don't play any of these games?
